💻 My Journey Into Ethical Hacking – A New Chapter Begins
Hey there, welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I go by Mr. Robot here—not just because it sounds cool, but because the Mr. Robot series genuinely inspired me. The way it portrayed hacking, rebellion, and digital freedom sparked something deep inside me. It wasn’t just entertainment—it felt like a calling.
So how did I end up here, diving into the world of ethical hacking?
It all started back in my school days. I must have been in 7th or 8th grade when an older friend—someone already in college—asked me what career I wanted to pursue. Without thinking too hard, I replied: Graphic Designer. He gave me a few tips on how to grow in that field. But the very next day, I told him out of the blue, “You know what, I want to be a hacker.”
He laughed and jokingly said, “Why would you want people’s curses and sorrow?” We both laughed it off—but looking back, maybe that moment planted a seed. I can’t say that was the exact point where I decided to become an ethical hacker, but it was definitely a small spark.
🧠 Where It All Really Began
Fast forward a few years—I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Applications and then went on to pursue a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA).
The turning point came during my MCA program, when I was introduced to a subject that truly captured my attention: Cryptography and Network Security. For the first time, I got a glimpse into how encryption algorithms work, how data is protected, and how vulnerable systems can be when security is weak. That subject opened a whole new world for me.
From there, I started diving deep into tools, building labs, watching cyberpunk-style hacking movies, and exploring real-world exploits and payloads. And here I am—writing my journey, hoping to connect with like-minded learners.
💻 Why I Started This Blog
- To Track My Progress
Writing things down helps me remember and reflect. This blog will be like my personal lab notebook—just public. - To Help Others
If I struggled to understand something, chances are someone else out there is stuck too. If my posts can save you time, confusion, or frustration—that’s a win. - To Build My Career
Blogging shows consistency, curiosity, and communication skills—all things that matter in cybersecurity. Plus, it can make a resume stand out from the crowd.
🛠 Tools I Use Regularly
So far, I’ve worked with tools like:
- Kali Linux (main OS for testing and learning)
- Metasploit Framework (for exploitation and payload handling)
- Aircrack-ng (for WiFi testing)
- Burp Suite (web app vulnerability testing)
- Nmap (for scanning and recon)
- MSFVenom (for custom payload generation)
- Wireshark (for traffic analysis)
- Hashcat & John the Ripper (for password cracking)
- Veil & Shellter for Windows payload obfuscation
🐍 Languages I Work With
Most of my scripting is done using:
- Python (for automation and payload generation)
- Bash (Linux scripting)
- Batch & PowerShell (for Windows machines)
- HTML/JavaScript (for basic web testing)
Not a pro coder yet, but I’m learning fast by breaking and fixing things.
🔐 What You Can Expect From This Blog
Here’s what I plan to write about:
- Ethical hacking tools explained in simple terms
- Step-by-step tutorials with screenshots
- CTF walkthroughs and writeups
- Payload creation and AV evasion techniques
- Cybersecurity news, tips, and beginner guides
- My learning updates and challenges
I won’t use fancy terms unless I explain them. The goal is to keep it beginner-friendly but still useful for intermediates.
🎯 Long-Term Goals
This isn’t just a hobby. I’m working toward:
- Building a solid career in cybersecurity (red teaming, maybe even cyber forensics)
- Learning and earning certifications like CEH, OSCP, and PNPT
- Contributing to open-source projects or helping out with local cyber awareness
- Maybe even creating courses or tools in the future
And yes, I do hope to monetize this blog one day—whether through ads, affiliate tools, or useful digital downloads. But that’s secondary. The main thing is learning and sharing.
☕ Let’s Connect
If you’re just starting out, or if you’re already deep into this field, I’d love to connect. Feel free to drop comments, share feedback, or suggest topics you’d like me to cover.
Let’s make this blog a space where curiosity meets community.
Until next time,
– Mr. Robot
